The Smith Undergraduate Student Association has twelve executive board positions, each of which support the events, internal operations, and initiatives of the organization.

Arshdeep Singh

Dawson Jones

Will Wilt

In high school, he was on the soccer and wrestling teams. He has worked as a marketing intern at Culinary Services Group and hopes to work in management consulting following graduation.

Aaliya Husain

Outside of SUSA, Nikita is currently a member of the QUEST Honors Program and the Logistics Director of Maryland Minza, a nonprofit dance competition at UMD. Dancing has been her main hobby, and being on this executive board has been a great way for her to stay connected to this passion. She has previously been involved in Consult Your Community (CYC) and Women in Business. Her experience in CYC and case competitions has exposed her to the field of consulting, which is what she is most interested in pursuing following graduation.

Ally Merwitz

Throughout her term, it is Ally's mission to encourage others to develop a similar mindset and serve those who are under-resourced and in need of our help and guidance.

Ryan Tanzil

Outside of SUSA, Ryan is the President of Terps Racing, a Smith Ambassador, the Vice President of Recreation for Maryland Club Golf, a member in the ECFO's Fellows Program, and works part-time as an account manager on the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) Finance team. He is a former member of the SUSA Administration committee managing the SUSA points system, Treasure of the club golf team, and an Environment, Technology, and Economy Scholar. While he is continuously exploring the various finance career paths, he will be working as a Finance Intern at Comcast NBCUniversal this upcoming Summer 2020 at their Philadelphia headquarters.

Jules Parra

Outside of SUSA, Jules is a Science, Technology, and Society Scholar, TAMID Group business consultant, and frequenter of the Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium. She is an avid reader, podcast listener, and traveler. During the Winter 2020 term, Jules studied abroad at the University of Cuenca in Ecuador and plans to study abroad in a different Spanish-speaking country for at least a semester. She is interested in the intersection of modern international business and emerging technologies and looking to work on and lead meaningful technology projects that contribute to an efficient and positive global community. Following graduation, she aims to work abroad in project or product management or consulting.

Administration Committee

Responsible for the logistics behind internal and external events. Manages attendance, minutes, points, and room reservation so that clubs can host events. Tracks events that clubs host to ensure that all clubs are meeting SUSA requirements. Oversees all human resources related work in SUSA, including anything related to member experience, growth, and retention.

Community Committee

Responsible for planning and executing multiple community service events throughout the semester. This involves communicating and developing/maintaining partnerships with corporate sponsors, nonprofits, and other clubs to increase service awareness. Also leads a committee of underclassmen who assist in correspondence and execution.

Creative Affairs Committee

Oversees Smith in the City: DC in which Smith students visit companies in Washington, DC to build their networks and gain knowledge of various companies’ cultures. Plans and executes the annual Smith Awards Night to recognize the successful and talented people that make up the Smith school. Responsible for bringing new and creative events to Smith to help improve the culture of Smith. Works closely with the Events and Fundraising committees.

Events Committee

Responsible for managing Smith-wide events that seek to bring together the Smith undergraduate community and connect students to career development and discovery opportunities. Collaborates with the Marketing committee to ensure consistent and effective marketing messaging for all events. Relays events budget needs to the Finance committee to ensure proper financing for all events.

Responsible for SUSA’s annual budget and all other duties assigned by the President. Approves funding for Smith-sponsored events and activities. Helps eligible, Smith-sponsored organizations gain SGA recognition. Audits SUSA financial records at the end of each semester.

Mickey is very excited to join the SUSA Finance Committee and help advance the priorities of the Smith student body. As the former founding treasurer of an on-campus student organization, he applied classroom accounting topics to the real-world by developing internal controls procedures and a financial management database. During summer 2019, he interned at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and learned about project management. In the future, he hopes to work in federal law enforcement and specialize in forensic accounting.

Professional Affairs Committee

The Professional Affairs committee for the Smith Undergraduate Student Association is the primary officer responsible for enhancing the professional journey of all Smith students. It is responsible for creating and developing initiatives to better serve the Smith community professionally, and allowing students to successfully discover their career paths. The committee will serve as a liaison between the Office of Career Services, SUSA, Smith Administration, and the student body as a whole.

Outside of SUSA, Lily is a personal trainer at Eppley Recreation and Wellness Center, a brother of Alpha Phi Omega, a community service fraternity in which she completes 22 hours of service every semester. She is also a College Mentors for Kids mentor and has danced ballet for 16 years. Lily has interned at the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago as a management intern as well as NARAL Massachusetts in Boston as a development intern. After graduation, she hopes to work in the development and sales side of marketing and explore career paths in hospital administration and fundraising.

Provides Smith students with the opportunities to participate in community service events. Focuses on fostering a culture where service is not viewed as an obligation, but a way to help others and positively impact both our local and greater communities. Collaborates with non-profit and other service-based organizations to create lasting partnerships to organize events. Responsible for ensuring all clubs fulfill their service requirements.

Abaan is extremely passionate about combining her passion for service with her passion for business because she believes one cannot exist without the other. In order to succeed, she thinks we must first learn to give back to our communities. She is a Business, Society, and Economy Scholar and a board member of Scholars in Action. In her free time, she loves figure skating, playing with her dog, and meeting new people.

Alexandra Resnick

Outside of SUSA, Alexandra is part of Take Back the Night, a peer tutor and counselor at Camp Tevya, and involved in Jewish family services. In her free time, she loves to play tennis.

Strategy and Operations Committee

Oversees the strategic position of SUSA as the amplifier of student voice within the Smith community. Manages curriculum enhancement meetings with administration with the purpose of creating positive student-driven change within Smith. Responsible for updating and amending the SUSA Constitution and maintaining organizational efficiency within SUSA through internal audits. Works closely with the Academics committee and the Professional Affairs committee to push student-facing initiatives. Works closely with the President to support all facets of SUSA.

Ryan Tanzil

Outside of SUSA, Ryan is the President of Terps Racing, a Smith Ambassador, the Vice President of Recreation for Maryland Club Golf, a member in the ECFO's Fellows Program, and works part-time as an account manager on the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) Finance team. He is a former member of the SUSA Administration committee managing the SUSA points system, Treasurer of the club golf team, and an Environment, Technology, and Economy Scholar. While he is continuously exploring the various finance career paths, he will be working as a Finance Intern at Comcast NBCUniversal this upcoming Summer 2020 at their Philadelphia headquarters.

Nicholas Bailey

Outside of SUSA, Nicholas is the Co-Vice President of Membership Operations of the American Marketing Association and a Maryland Images tour guide. He enjoys running and watching “Breaking Bad.” Following graduation, Nicholas hopes to work in a data-orientated job that helps companies operate more efficiently.

Outside of SUSA, Tanu is involved in Sophomore Finance Fellows, the QUEST Honors Program, and Alpha Kappa Psi. Following graduation, she hopes to enter the consulting field and travel to every continent.

Technology Committee

Responsible for maintaining and updating the SUSA website. Carries out all other duties assigned by the President. Organizes technology-centered business events. Works closely with other SUSA committees, Smith clubs, Smith IT, and the Smith Office of Career Services on technology-related projects.

Jules Parra

Outside of SUSA, Jules is a Science, Technology, and Society Scholar, TAMID Group business consultant, and frequenter of the Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium. She is an avid reader, podcast listener, and traveler. During the Winter 2020 term, Jules studied abroad at the University of Cuenca in Ecuador and plans to study abroad in a different Spanish-speaking country for at least a semester. She is interested in the intersection of modern international business and emerging technologies and looking to work on and lead meaningful technology projects that contribute to an efficient and positive global community. Following graduation, she aims to work abroad in project or product management or consulting.

Sankya Parvatrao

Outside of SUSA, Sankya is involved in Flexus (an living-learning community for women engineers), the club swim team, CHAARG, Maryland Masti dance competition, Engineers Without Borders, and Terpski. She loves traveling, baking, and spending time with friends. She is a fan of Playa Bowls, so you can always find her there! Sankya is looking forward to her position on the Technology Committee and hopes to gain a lot from the experience.

Outside of SUSA, Arnav is a Science, Technology, and Society Scholar, and is involved with the College Park Student Investment Group, International Economics and Finance Society, and Terrapin Hackers. He enjoys watching and playing sports such as basketball and football and going to the gym. Arnav is interested in working at the intersection of technology and business, and wants to be involved with innovative technologies that help solve the world’s problems in industries such as healthcare and finance.
